Despite those words, a composed Anthony Joshua and internet personality Paul - normally famous for his dramatics - shared friendly words and maintained decorum with each other.

Jake Paul rather targeted ex Joshua's opponent Francis Ngannou and called him "ridiculous" after Ngannou declined a bout proposal.

Joshua, at the same time, targeted UK opponent Tyson Fury - and refused a large bet 'Tyson Fury' claims he will make on a victory for Paul.

"[Paul] outshines Tyson Fury - he's actually sitting here," Joshua said.

"I respect him for that."

Serious Fighter

In spite of saying he intends to hurt Jake Paul, Joshua declined to speak negatively about his rival's boxing ability.

"Jake is a legitimate boxer," he said.

Paul's History

Paul - who initially became famous on the television network - has mainly boxed MMA fighters or declining opponents since entering professional boxing.

He lost to Briton Tommy Fury in 2023.

Commercial Attraction

However, the relative newcomer is still one of the sport's greatest commercial attractions, regularly earning huge earnings.

Prediction and Confidence

The 28 year old predicted a knockout win in round four or five and asserted he would derail the long-awaited Joshua–Fury fight, which is apparently in the works for 2026.

"The next fight will be my match with Fury next year," Jake Paul declared.

As Joshua and Paul met for the usual face-off, with their height and weight contrast clearly visible, it drove home just how improbable this entire matchup is - and how remarkable it is that the fight is actually proceeding.
